Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") set out the conditions for using "Friend Compass" (the "App"), provided by KARTIS WORKS ("we", "us"). By using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
The App helps users meet up by sharing location among participants and showing the direction (a compass arrow) and distance to others. We may change, add to, or discontinue the service without prior notice.
2. Location Sharing
Location sharing is controlled by your own actions (starting, pausing, and ending sharing). You choose the people you share with, at your own responsibility. Handling of location data follows our Privacy Policy.
3. Prohibited Conduct
You must not: use the App for stalking or harassment, including obtaining or tracking someone's location without their consent; violate any law or public order and morals; place excessive load on our servers or other users, gain unauthorized access, or reverse-engineer the App; interfere with the operation of the App; or engage in any other conduct we deem inappropriate.
4. Disclaimer & Your Responsibility
The direction and distance shown by the App are subject to error due to GPS and sensor accuracy, network conditions, and the surrounding environment. We do not guarantee accuracy or that a meetup will succeed. When moving or meeting up, ensure your own safety and do not stare at your device while walking. Except in cases of our willful misconduct or gross negligence, we are not liable for damages arising from use or inability to use the App. Sharing can continue in the background, but may stop due to the device being shut down, battery depletion, or poor connectivity.
5. Intellectual Property
Copyright and other intellectual property rights in the App and related content belong to us or the rightful owners.
6. Fees
The core features of the App are provided free of charge. If we offer paid features in the future, we will separately define their content, price, and conditions.
7. Changes to These Terms
We may change these Terms as needed. The revised Terms take effect when posted on this page.
8. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute relating to the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over our location.
